Vorwerk® & Co. KG was founded in Wuppertal in 1883. During the course of over 135 years, the company started originally as a carpet manufacturer, has grown into a highly diversified, global conglomerate. Vorwerk® nevertheless remains a family enterprise to this day.

Since 1930, Vorwerk®’s core business has been the direct selling of its high-quality products. Named the world’s top 5 direct selling company by revenue every year, the Vorwerk® product range includes household appliances (the Kobold vacuum cleaner and the Thermomix® kitchen appliance) and the first-class JAFRA cosmetics. The akf banking group, the Vorwerk® carpet factories and the HECTAS Group as an associate company all belong to the Vorwerk® entrepreneurial family. Each division within the group shares the common goals of producing superior products combined with a total commitment to customer service. It is this ethos that makes Vorwerk® so special.

Vorwerk® Engineering regularly brings highly innovative, new household appliances to market maturity. There are over 120 people on the Research and Development team, constantly working on new ideas of exceptional innovative strength, as witnessed by the large number of patents they have earned. For the Thermomix® TM5 alone, patents were filed for 151 inventions. Thermomix® products are completely manufactured at the company’s own production facilities in Europe.

Thermomix® In South Africa

In 2020, after a decade long successful presence in the South African marketplace, Swiss Diversitas Group (Pty) Ltd has been awarded by Vorwerk International to become The Official Distributor of Thermomix® in South Africa – with a focus on launching the new, smart generation TM6 model. Swiss Diversitas Group (SDG) was founded in 2018 in South Africa and is fully privately owned. The company, based on its Swiss founder’s passion, is rooted in the FMCG industry with focus on imported premium chocolate brands. The company’s employees and partners have long-standing local market expertise, both in the wholesale and the direct sales industry. It is SDG’s mission to service its patrons in the most professional and respectful way possible and to deliver a “best-in-class” customer experience.
